Many knitters (myself included!) have a go-to basic sock pattern that we return to again and again. For me, that pattern is I’m So Basic Socks by Summer Lee Design Co. I honestly can’t count how many pairs I’ve knitted using it.

True to its name, this is a very straightforward sock pattern, but what makes it especially great is how well it’s explained. With clear instructions and plenty of accompanying YouTube videos, it’s a fantastic choice for beginners or anyone wanting a relaxing, no-fuss sock knit. And even better, it’s a free pattern!

So… is it too late to knit Christmas socks?
In my opinion, it’s never too late. If they’re not finished in time for this festive season, there’s always another cosy winter (or Christmas!) waiting for them. Handmade socks are always a win.
