Starling is a 100% pure new wool, non-superwash yarn with a beautifully natural feel. It is spun and dyed in Donegal, Ireland, and hand-skeined by Flock & Friends in Switzerland.

It’s a single-ply aran-weight yarn with a beautifully rustic feel, natural warmth and those lovely Donegal-style speckles that give every stitch a little extra personality.

Starling isn't trying to be perfectly smooth or uniform and that's exactly what we love about it. It keeps the natural character of the wool, creating fabric with texture, warmth and a wonderfully honest feel.

Perfect for cosy sweaters, cardigans, hats, scarves and blankets and beautiful paired with silk mohair when you want a little extra softness and halo.

How much Starling do I need:

1 skein (160m): hat, cowl or fingerless gloves
3–4 skeins (480m–640m): cropped sweater or large triangle shawl
5 skeins (800m): small adult sweater
6–7 skeins (960m–1120m): standard adult sweater or cardigan
8–9+ skeins (1280m+): oversized sweater or larger sizes

What does Starling feel like?
