Meet Benjamine, a little seaside adventurer with a love for misty mornings, gentle waves and cosy raincoats! Designed by Cinthia Vallet for The Annual (Issue Five) from John Arbon Textiles, Benjamine is a charming knitted character who enjoys the simple pleasures of summer by the sea.
From sailing on the waves to sheltering in a little beach hut, Benjamine is ready for all sorts of adventures. Her sweet character and tiny knitted clothes make her a delightful project for anyone who loves bringing knitted creatures to life.
What's included in the kit?
This kit brings Benjamine to life using the beautiful John Arbon Textiles Exmoor Sock 4ply, a lovely yarn for creating her little body and wardrobe.
The kit includes:
- 1 Ă 50g skein of Exmoor Sock 4ply in Bibble Bug (body)
- 1 Ă 50g skein of Exmoor Sock 4ply in Fairy Thimble (muzzle and end of paws)
- 1 Ă 50g skein of Exmoor Sock 4ply in Peggles (swimsuit)
- 1 Ă 50g skein of Exmoor Sock 4ply in Mizzle (swimsuit)
- 1 Ă 50g skein of Exmoor Sock 4ply in Drumble (raincoat)
A little extra knitting fun: The yarn included in this kit is also enough to knit Little Mo, Benjamine's little brother, who wears the brown gilet.
A little note about the colours
This kit features our own selection of John Arbon shades, chosen to create a lovely version of Benjamine.
The original kit uses Exmoor Sock 4ply for Little Mo, Benjamine's little brother (the one with the brown gilet). Cinthia and I have chosen to use this beautiful yarn for Benjamine instead, with a few thoughtful colour changes:

Bibble Bug replaces Drizzle.

Exmoor Sock 4ply in Fairy Thimble replaces Knit by Numbers 4ply, KBN120.

Drumble replaces Fuzzpig, as it is a closer match for the colour of Benjamine's raincoat.

Hurdy and Mizzle are the shades used in the darker swimsuit (the one Little Mo is wearing). We replaced Hurdy with Peggles to have a brighter red swimsuit closer to what Benjamine is wearing, but kept Mizzle as the contrasting colour.
These substitutions bring together a harmonious palette of Exmoor Sock colours while giving Benjamine her own special look.

Benjamine is designed by Cinthia Vallet for The Annual, Issue Five. This special-edition kit has been put together especially for knitfest, with the kind permission of Cinthia Vallet.
Please note: The knitting pattern is not included in this kit. You will need your own copy of The Annual, Issue Five to make Benjamine. You can buy a digital copy on John Arbon Textiles' website or Ravelry.
Buttons, embroidery thread and safety eyes are also not included and will need to be sourced separately.
