Flock & Friends Advent Calendar day 6 - December Bow by PetiteKnit
Day 6 of the Flock & Friends Advent Calendar! 🎄✨
Today’s festive inspiration is the December Bow by PetiteKnit, a sweet little project perfect for adding a handmade touch to your home or outfit this holiday season. 🧶💛
The December Bow is worked back and forth in one piece, from tip to tip, in garter stitch with i-cord edges. Once knitted, it’s folded into a bow and sewn together following the pattern diagram. You can even put a handle at the back to hang it on your tree, a door wreath, or anywhere that needs a little Christmas cheer! 🎀
The pattern recommends DK yarn on 3.5mm (US 4) needles, but if you want to wear the bow in your hair, simply switch to 3mm (US 2½) needles with thinner yarn and sew a small hair clip (6 cm / 2¾ in) on the back. Perfect for holiday hair accessories! ✨

For this project, my top yarn pick is West Yorkshire Spinners’ Wool Revival, a sustainable and beautifully soft yarn made from 80% recycled British wool and 20% recycled nylon. Each year, West Yorkshire Spinners processes thousands of kilos of British wool, giving surplus fibres that would normally go to waste a new life. The yarn is carded, combed, spun, dyed, and finished all locally, within a 10-mile radius, making it a proudly eco-friendly choice. 🌱
The shades I love for the December Bow are:
🧶 Fig (1)
🧶 Pine (2)
🧶 Bark (3)
These natural, cozy colours would look gorgeous as a tree decoration, on a wreath, or even as a little gift topper! 🌲
Which shade would you choose for your December Bow? Or would you mix a few for a playful, multicoloured effect? Let me know in the comments below!
